Gov't Mule-Mulennium CD Review

If the title didn't give it away, this release by Gov't Mule is their live New Year's Eve show from 1999-2000. The relatively cheap [$9.99 on Amazon] set of three Cds, including one with blues legend Little Milton, you really get some bang for your buck. Including popular Mule cuts like Blind Man in the Dark and Towering Fool, you also get to hear some strange live cuts like the title track of their upcoming "Life Before Insanity" album. Also in the first CD, after a strange jam out of Towering Fool we get to here the short excitement of the new millennium in the crowd, Mule breaks into a cover of King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man". Also a set closing "Dazed and Confused" Jam. Onto the second CD. This is the set with Little Milton, and most of the songs are relatively unknown blues songs written by Milton, though the most notable song of the set is "I Can't Quit You Baby". The third set has some goodies in the form of covers of "Helter Skelter" and "30 Days in the Hole". This one gets 4.5 out of 5.
